Bexar County Academy will continue to follow CDC recommendations to prevent any infection of a respiratory virus, which includes to:

  1. Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  2. Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  3. Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  4. Stay home when sick.
  5. Cough or sneeze into an elbow or use a tissue and place in trash immediately.
  6. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

If a student or staff member shows respiratory symptoms, our heath coordinator will follow standard precautions. Students that have a constant severe cough, fever of 99.9, pink eye, or any unexplained rashes will be sent home. CDC encourages families to follow information for travel, available at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/index.html.  For the safety and health of  our  faculty and staff,  we are requesting that parents notify the school if a child has been home sick with any of the ailments listed above.  A doctor’s note will be needs for clearance however if you are unable to seek medical attention please see the health coordinator first thing in the morning.
