This will be my third year at Bexar County Academy and my eleventh year teaching full time. I started mid year in fourth last year. I taught two years of Pre-Kindergarten and the Gifted and Talented Program here at BCA. My gifted and talented students competed in the Spurs Team Up Challenge in partnership with Fisher House 1 on Fort Sam Houston. I have taught 3 years of Second Grade, half a year of Pre-K 3 and 4 years of Kindergarten at my other school.
I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M University-San Antonio in May 2011 with my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies EC-6 Generalist. In June 2012, I graduated Summa Cum Laude with my Master of Education from Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas. I also obtained my certification to teach English as a Second Language students, and Gifted and Talented students.
I have been actively involved in various capacities in the classroom since 2005. My experiences include Elementary Teacher Assistant for two years, Substitute Teacher for a year, and a Project TEKS Tutor for the STAAR.
I am from San Antonio but have lived all over the United States. Reading and writing are two of my favorite activities. There is nothing like a good book. I highly emphasize reading both in the classroom and at home. I enjoy spending time with my family.
