Mrs. Sandy Saenz
PreK4 Teacher / Cheer Coach – PreK- 2nd grade
Hi, my name is Sandy Saenz, I enjoy teaching my students through active engagement and using hands on activities. I enjoy painting and doing arts and crafts with my students, I also enjoy reading to my students and working with children and how much they learn and grow throughout the year, they always seem to make you laugh with the little things they say and do as they learn. For instance, one of my students said to me one time as I read to them, “Goldilocks and The Three Bears”. As I was reading to them, “They cooked some porridge and because it was to hot, they decided to take a walk while it cooled down”, a student replied, “I know where they went Mrs. Saenz”, “where”, I asked, he replied, “to HEB!”. They always put a smile on my face.
I attended St. Philip's College and achieved an Associate in Interior Design. I then transferred to Texas State University where I achieved a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science with Emphasis in Education, then I decided to further my education, and attended Texas A&M University – San Antonio, and received my Master of Arts in Counseling and Guidance (LPC, Mental Health). I hope to one day get my PhD., I also attended Region 20 and enrolled in the Alternative Certification Program (TOPP). I have been in the Education field for about 10 years, I also had the opportunity to do my internship and work at Haven for Hope in the intake department. In addition to my education background, I have been preparing income taxes for over twenty years. I am excited to be part of the BCA family, I am currently a Prek4 teacher, and Cheer Coach for PreK – 2nd grade.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy listening and dancing to Salsa, and Bachata. I am also a ZIN member, Zumba Certified. I was born and raised here in San Antonio, Texas.
